Deliverability

What is Deliverability?

The ability of your emails to reach recipients' inboxes rather than being blocked or filtered to spam.

Deliverability describes whether and where an email lands after a mailbox provider accepts it. It is distinct from raw delivery, which only confirms the receiving server accepted the message; a message can be delivered yet filtered to spam, so true deliverability is really about inbox placement. It is shaped by sender reputation, authentication, content, recipient engagement, and list quality.

Why it matters for cold email

For cold email, deliverability is the whole game because recipients never opted in and mailbox providers scrutinize unsolicited senders aggressively. Weak authentication, poor list hygiene, or low engagement can silently route an entire campaign to spam, where it generates zero replies no matter how good the copy is.
