What is Disposable Email (Disposable Email Address)?
A temporary, throwaway email address from a short-lived service that is designed to expire or be abandoned quickly.
Disposable email addresses come from services like Mailinator or 10MinuteMail that provide temporary inboxes, often used to bypass signup gates without exposing a real address. They typically stop accepting mail after a short window, so sending to them produces hard bounces, and after expiry their domains can be recycled into spam traps. Verification tools maintain blocklists of known disposable domains to filter them out.
Why it matters for cold email
Disposable addresses on a cold list are dead weight that bounce and can later become traps, directly hurting bounce rate and sender reputation. Screening them out at import, alongside role accounts and invalid syntax, is core list hygiene before any send.
